I came to Tacoma community house in 2018 for my GED. I first met Sharlene. I was so scared and nervous. After orientation she asked me to stay for a few minutes. She saw that I was nervous ( my face was red, I was playing with my hands) and she gently sat by me and we talked for about an hour. It is a conversation I’ll forever remember. When I left it felt as if a ton of bricks lifted off my chest. I attended classes with Christian for a few months. I began taking practice tests and passed my GED. Sharlene was the first one I told and was so proud of me. I’m now on my 2nd year at Clover Park to pursue my dreams as a RN. My life is finally going down the right path and one day ill come back and visit. Thank you for all you do.”
