Tacoma Community House is participating in #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020 to encourage support of our four core programs: Immigration, Education, Employment, and Advocacy (for victims of crime).
#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. TCH encourages supporters to donate, volunteer, or share our cause on social media to aid us as we continue providing free and low-cost wraparound services to some of the South Sound’s most vulnerable communities – immigrants, refugees, adult GED students, and English language learners, low-income job seekers, domestic violence survivors, and more.
When so much attention is given to what makes us different, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together. Generosity is our individual power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value we can all act on.
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.
Strategically set after the widely-recognized holiday shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday aims to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season.
It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities and to give back in better and smarter ways to the causes they believe in, in hopes of creating a better and more just world.
